Workshop Synopsis:

Currently, the types of dental restorations that are available to us are significantly different from what we had 20 years ago. Indirect restorations, such as a Crownlay, veneerlay, and tabletops, are now possible due to our increasing confidence in bonding techniques. It is now evident that we can bond to the tooth substrate without utilizing any retentive and resistive form, leading to a conservation of more tooth structure than ever before.

However, bonding indirect restorations can be perplexing due to the rapid advancements in techniques and technology that can sometimes contradict older ones. This can result in uncertainty about which protocols to use, leading to unpredictable results.

This workshop aims to address these issues by analysing the latest adhesive bonding strategies, debunking myths, and highlighting the differences between the current adhesive systems available today, such as etch-and-rinse, self-etching, and universal, as well as the differences in resin bonding strategies, including self-adhesive and adhesive.

Through a summary of current evidence and a series of clinical cases with a hands-on component, this workshop aims to provide a set of guidelines for bonding indirect restorations to maximize clinical outcomes and achieve predictable results with indirect restorations.
